Caucasus
Kazak Tribal
$2,400
Kazak rugs come from the mountainous borderlands of the southern Caucasus, and their language is bold, large-scale geometry: hooked medallions, latch-hooks and starkly contrasting fields. This example is unafraid of empty space, letting a few strong forms carry the whole rug. Lustrous, long-staple wool gives the reds and ivories a glow that photographs rarely capture.
